National Level Science Exhibition
               2011 - 2012 : Science club was organized and preceded by the department of S&H for the outreach of our college. A National Level Science Exhibition for School Children was proposed by the same in 14-10- 2011 and 15-10-2011. Nearly 1000 students from 50 schools located in Chennai, Madurai, Trichy, Rajapalayam, Theni, Thindivanam, Udumelpet, Pollachi and Coimbatore have participated with enthusiasm. The topics were from Maths, Physics, Chemistry, Computer science and English literature. They were also given Cash prize worth of Rs.1, 00,000/-.      

                2013 - 2014 : The second National Level Science Exhibition for school students was held on 21st and 22nd of November 2013. This event received massive response as numerous students from various places participated with great zeal. The projects exhibited during the exhibition grabbed the attention of all the visitors and it was an assurance that the future of the nation is secure in the hands of those young scientists. A total number of 777 participants took part in the events and more than 1500 students and 200 organizations visited the exhibition. 329 projects were displayed under various topics like physics (120), Chemistry (52), Biology (34), Computer Science (62), mathematics (34) and English (27). Besides these projects students also participated in other competitions like Quiz, extempore, Drama, and Multimedia presentations. 
             

                The best projects and the winners of the competitions were awarded with attractive cash prizes worth one lakh. Certificates were issued to all the winners and also the participants of the event.

               2014 - 2015 : The Third National Level Science Exhibition for school students was held on 30th and 31st of Octoberr 2014. This event at SVS College of Engineering is a common pedestal for students to showcase their talents in the field of science and technology. The valedictory of the second National Level Science Exhibition was honoured by Thiru.S.Paul Pandian, Scientist/Engineer "G", Group Director, Inertials sensor group, ISRO Interial system unit, Tiruvandrum - 13 as the chief guest. The chief guest encouraged the students to develop scientific thinking. He stated that a nation’s strength is evaluated based on its scientific progress in the recent scenario. He delivered an insightful speech about velocity and orbital motion of the space vehicle "chandrayan" and its successfull story behind the launching face. Thus he laid emphasis on the inevitable role of science and technology in empowering the nation. He congratulated the management on the grand success of the event.This event received massive response as numerous students from various places participated with great zeal. A total number of 600 participants took part in the events and more than 1000 students and 100 organizations visited the exhibition. 300 projects were displayed under various topics like physics (100), Chemistry (50), Biology (25), Computer Science (25), mathematics (50) and English (50). Besides these projects students also participated in other competitions like Quiz, extempore, Drama, and Multimedia presentations. 

             

               The best projects and the winners of the competitions were awarded with attractive cash prizes worth one lakh. Certificates were issued to all the winners and also the participants of the event.
 

Motivational Class for First Year

      2013 - 2014 : Conducted Motivational classes for First Year Students (26.08.13 – 31.08.13 & 02.09.13, 03.09.13).The Resource person is Dr.S.Manikandan Sundaresan M.B.A., P.G.D.P.M.L.L., Ph.D., Chief Trainer, Youth Corp Training Solutions, Pollachi.     

      2014 -  2015 : Conducted Motivational classes for First Year Students on March 9th 2015. The Resource person is S.Swaminathan is a Power Motivator, Educator, Motivational Speaker, Corporate and Soft Skills Trainer, HRD Consultant and Director – Asktenali.com and has held several senior management positions in the Information Technology Industry. Thousands have benefited through his seminars, workshops and lectures on Leadership, Management and Personality Development related topics conducted for Senior Management Professionals,Executives, Faculties and Students of educational institutions.. He has influenced thousands of people through his influential and entertaining presentations. He is a motivational keynote speaker who has by now ignited many professional's will to lead. His speeches are content rich and especially made to address company's distinct and exclusive needs. The keynote topics not only captivates the audience but also teaches them to become leaders of self and organization. .He has also appeared in number of T.V. Programs on HRD topics. A widely traveled person, he speaks in English, Hindi, Bengali and Tamil among several others languages.

  2015 -  2016 :  Conducted Motivational classes for First Year Students (19.08.15 -29.08.15 , 09.09.15 & 10.09.15).The Resource person is Dr.S.Manikandan Sundaresan M.B.A., P.G.D.P.M.L.L., Ph.D., Chief Trainer, Youth Corp Training Solutions, Pollachi.   

 2016 -  2017 :Motivation is a major force which is in need of a student. Knowing the importance of role of motivation in student’s life SVS College of Engineering has organized two days motivational programme for the first year B.E. and B.Arch students on 27.10.2016 (Tuesday) and 29.10.2016 (Thursday).

Mr. Sivakumar Palaniappan, Founder and Chief Mentor, Mastering Mind Academy was the resource person of the programme. He motivated the students with his speech and various activities, which triggered the students to mold themselves better in both curricular and co curricular activities.
