LABORATORY DETAILS:

ENGINEERING PRACTICES LABORATORY

Engineering Practices Laboratory of the department provides exposure to the students with hands on experience on various basic engineering practices in Civil, Mechanical, Electrical and Electronics Engineering. Engineering practices lab provides facilities to practice in welding, Sheet metal, Plumbing, Carpentry, Foundry, Machining practice, etc. This practical knowledge serves as a foundation to the students when they do other practical and makes them familiar with the basic tools and equipment of engineering industry but also instills on them confidence to face practical problems. The laboratory is equipped with

  • Assorted components for plumbing
  • Carpentry vices, various hammer, circular saw, planer, hand drilling machine, jigsaw
  • Welding booth with exhaust facility like welding shield, chipping hammer, wire brush
  • Hearth furnace, anvil and smithy tools
  • Moulding table, foundry tools
  • Angle Grinder
  • Study-purpose centrifugal pump, air-conditioner, etc.

CAD LABORATORY

To make the students understand and interpret drawings of machine components so as to prepare assembly drawings either manually and using standard CAD packages and to familiarize the students with Indian Standards on drawing practices and standard components CAD Laboratory has been setup in the department. It also helps the students to understand and handle design problems in a systematic manner by gaining practical experience in handling 2D drafting and 3D modeling software systems which can be applied in real life applications.

Laboratory contains licensed software like:

  • ANSYS 13.0
  • EDGE CAM 2012
  • Solid Works 2011
  • Think Design

Individual systems are allotted for each student. Comfort lightings and high level hierarchies monitor the laboratory sessions by CCTV cameras fixed in the laboratory.
